Delaware County Economic Development will host their annual tailgate cookout today.
Director Donna Boss says everyone is welcome to stop by the Manchester Fareway parking lot between 11 and 1:30. You can get a grilled pork loin sandwich, chips and a bottle of water for $6 – plus go into a drawing for a Chamber Sideliners Raffle ticket if you’re wearing your favorite team shirt.
This cookout is held every year on the Friday before the big in-state football rivalry between Iowa and Iowa State.
Boss says the proceeds from today’s cookout will help fund an upcoming program they’re offering to the community in October. It’s called Distinctively Delaware County – and it’s an interactive welcome experience that will be taking place three Wednesday nights in October at the Manchester Center.
