Two women are dead after a shooting west of Springville on Tuesday morning.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says around 9:30 am, they received a call of a shooting that had happened at a home at 2561 Jordan’s Grove Road. When emergency personnel arrived, two women were found dead in the home from gunshot wounds.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office and Linn County Medical Examiner’s Office investigated at the scene and determined there was no danger to the public.
A witness was interviewed at the scene. Investigators say the witness’ statements appear to be consistent with their initial findings.
The names of the two women are being withheld until family has been notified. Their bodies have been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for autopsies.
The case remains under investigation.
