Ag Informer – Pasture & Grazing Field Day

Women Land and Legacy-Delaware and Jones County to host Pasture & Grazing Field Day this Summer

Area women in ag are invited to join the Women, Land & Legacy- Delaware and Jones County group for an informational field day this summer focused on pasture management and rotational grazing. The Pasture and Grazing Field Day will be held on Tuesday, June 27th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Lubben White Oak Farm in Monticello (24539 Hwy 38, Monticello, IA).

The field day will feature a number of speakers including Jacob Hawes, Grassland Specialist with Natural Resources Conservation Services discussing pasture health and grasses. Lubben White Oak Farm owner Lydia Grant will discuss rotational grazing and showcase how they use it with their beef cattle. And Denise Schwab, Beef Specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will focus on summer forages and grazing benefits.

The Women, Land & Legacy- Delaware and Jones County group is a locally led USDA education and outreach program, focused on empowering women landowners and farmers to be agents of positive change in their communities through active participation, educational sessions, and networking opportunities. \
