Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association Holding Annual Meeting

David Miller, Consulting Chief Economist for Decision Innovation Solutions, Dr. Mark Licht, ISU Extension Cropping Systems Specialist, and Dr. Michael Castellano, ISU Professor and Lead, Iowa Nitrogen Initiative will speak at the annual meeting of the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association (NEIAEA) at the Borlaug Learning Center, ISU Northeast Research Farm, Nashua on March 13th.

The program starts at 9:30 a.m. with a Call to Order for the board meeting. David Miller will share his insights of the sustainable and biofuels market with his presentation at 10:00 a.m. titled “SAF and Ethanol, What Iowa has to gain (or lose)”. In the next hour, Mark Licht will discuss the “current research findings of short stature corn”. During lunch, Ken Pecinovsky, Farm Superintendent, will review 2023 research trial results conducted at the NE Research Farm and discuss future research plans. Michael Castellano will wrap up the presentations at 1:00 p.m. as he gives an update of the Iowa Nitrogen Initiative.

A free lunch will be provided, sponsored by Becks Hybrids. Following Castellano’s presentation, the NEIAEA board of directors will meet. The day’s sessions qualify for four free CCA credits (3 CM, 1 NM).

The meeting is free and open to the public. The program will be held at the Borlaug Learning Center on the ISU Northeast Research Farm. Directions: From Nashua at the Jct. of Hwy 218 (Exit 220) and Co. Rd. B60, go west on B60 1.1 miles to Windfall Ave., then south 1 mile to 290th St., then east 0.2 miles to the farm.
