A Dyersville man died in a crash on Old Highway 20 on Thursday afternoon.
It happened east of Earlville a half mile west of the Petersburg blacktop just before 3:30 pm.
The Iowa State Patrol says 59-year old Terry Meyer was driving his pickup eastbound when he crossed the centerline at the start of the S-curve and hit an oncoming semi head-on.
Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi driver, 50-year old Tom Burcham, Jr. of Earlville, was transported to Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The accident remains under investigation.
