Several Local Attractions Honored with Tourism Awards

Several local attractions have been honored with tourism awards.

The Iowa Tourism Office recently presented 26 awards recognizing excellence in the tourism industry during the Iowa Tourism Conference in Des Moines.

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque was named Outstanding Attraction in a metro. 

Balltown was named Outstanding Community for rural Iowa.

The Beyond the Game Festival in Dyersville was named Outstanding Event for rural Iowa.

And the Turkey River Recreational Corridor was named Outstanding Niche Market Initiative for rural Iowa. 

Amy Zieger, state tourism manager for the Iowa Tourism Office, says Iowa tourism realized a great recovery since last summer – she says that’s in large part to the innovative work from their partners – and they’re happy to celebrate that.
