Manchester Hoping to Help Rid More Older Homes of Lead Paint

The City of Manchester is hoping to apply for another round of grant funding to help get rid of the lead paint in some of the town’s older homes.

The funding would be through the ECIA’s HUD Lead and Healthy Homes Program, with the City providing a match of $2,000 per home. City Manager Tim Vick:

Manchester has already been able to update five properties in town since last fall, with four more currently in progress. And there’s room for more in that first round.

If your Manchester home was built before 1978 and you’d like to be considered for the HUD Lead and Healthy Homes Program, contact ECIA at 563-690-5791 or the City of Manchester at 927-3636 for more information.
