Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a head-on collision in Jones County on Saturday morning.
It happened in the 12000 block of Highway 38 around 7:45 am. The Iowa State Patrol says an eastbound car crossed the centerline and struck a westbound pickup.
The driver of the car, 19-year old David Flores of Wyoming, and the pickup driver, 52-year old Robbie Koster of Wyoming, were both injured and transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by air ambulance.
Authorities say they’re not sure why Flores crossed the centerline. The crash remains under investigation.
