One person was killed in a collision on Old Highway 20 east of Earlville on Thursday afternoon.
It happened just before 3:30 pm. The Iowa State Patrol tells KMCH a Ford truck was eastbound on Old 20 about a half-mile west of the Petersburg blacktop when it crossed the centerline on the S curve and hit a westbound semi.
The driver of the Ford truck died at the scene.
The semi driver was first transported to Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Authorities are expected to release the names of those involved on Friday morning.
