Manchester Chamber Hosts Annual Ag Luncheon

Delaware County Farm Bureau Board Named Friend of Ag

The ag community gathered on a rainy Thursday for the Manchester Chamber’s Annual Ag Luncheon at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Pavilion.

It was the 41st year for the event, which brings together farmers, ag workers, business leaders and FFA students to celebrate agriculture.

Dr. David Kohl of Virginia Tech was back by popular demand as the keynote speaker, sharing with the audience his knowledge of ag economics. And there was one main message he wanted to get across:

FFA students from four area schools – West Delaware, Maquoketa Valley, Ed-Co and Beckman Catholic – attended to hear from Dr. Kohl and learn more about opportunities in agriculture during the Thursday morning FFA Career Fair. Dr. Kohl says visiting with the students is something he looks forward to.

The Manchester Chamber presented their annual Friend of Ag Award to the Delaware County Farm Bureau Board. Board treasurer Molly Mormann says they appreciate the recognition.
